consonare - Chamber Choir from Dresden

Who we are

consonare is a group of young women and men who enjoy singing and making music together.
consonare interprets clerical and secular choir works from different centuries, songs, contemporary compositions and its own arrangments.
consonare performs in churches, concert halls and clubs. For many years concerts in foster- and nursing homes have been an important part part of the choir's

work. Upon request, individual programs can also be arranged to fit different occasions.
Most members of consonare are students of e.g. humanities, medicine, law, landscape gardening etc. After finishing their studies, many of them move away from Dresden. Thus, the face of the choir never stays the same for a long time. Others have been singing here for years or joined the choir after having worked for some time. All spend a good part of their leisure time in the choir. However, members do not only come together for the weekly rehearsals, practise weekends or concerts, but also for excursions, hiking or parties.
It is also possible for children to sing, create new sounds together, be versatile and import their individuality. The “consonare Kinderchor” offers a good opportunity for musical children who want to learn and develop their vocal skills at an early stage. The rehearsals take place once or twice a week in different groups, which change frequently depending on the number and the children’s skills.
consonare is a non-profit organisation, financed without institutional support. Funding is generated by concerts and donation only.

consonare is a member in the german society of concert choirs (Verband Deutscher Konzerchöre e.V.).
